Meditation and Protecting Yourself

Since I first began to develop my Psychic & Mediumistic ability, particularly when sitting within a Development Circle - I have always used Meditation.Meditation is a time where you can set aside any troubles or worries, and have quiet and peaceful time - just for you. Many people have found that by setting aside this quiet time each week, or even daily, that they feel more 'grounded' and at 'one' with themselves - their lives are as a result more calm, and that they are more in control of daily events.When you Meditate for the very first time, you may find that you are not entirely relaxing, or are 'holding' on to the days thoughts - persevere as in time it will become easier to let go of any stress or troubles, and you will find yourself a lot deeper into a meditative state.
Setting the Scene
First, decide on a place to have your Meditation. This can be a room in a quiet area of the house, which is light & airy and free from clutter.
Dress the room with comfy cushions for you and your friends, make sure the temperature is just right - not too warm and not so hot you'll be drifting off to sleep! If you have friends with you, ensure they are also there to relax and develop their Spiritual ability - otherwise you may find it difficult to enjoy your meditation and ultimately progress. Try using a form of Incense - I find the Oil burners to be the most effective, and some candles will also help to soften the mood.
Next you may want to select some Music to help you relax. You can choose what ever you like - from a general relaxation compilation - for example; Rainforest, tribal, tibetan bells. Or perhaps a Spiritual Music collection which is based on using the energy of the 'Ohms'. Another option is to use a 'Guided' Meditation compilation which will take you through the Meditation process step-by-step. Either way, choose a method and style which you feel comfortable with.Choose to have you Meditation at a time of the day when it is generally quiet in the house. This should help to minimize any chance of you being disturbed whilst having your 'quiet time'. It is also good practise to set a time limit to your Meditation - I normally say 30 minutes as a maximum - this will also help you to be able to remember any images or messages given to you during that time. Try to make your Meditation the same time and day each week, you should find that Spirit will come through a lot more easier.
Your Meditation
Now you are ready to begin your Meditation. Sitting comfortably take a few deep breaths in and as you breathe out - try to imagine any thoughts or cares of the day drifting away.Feel your feet firmly flat against the floor and imagine strong roots growing from them. Imagine the roots growing deeper and deeper into the Earth. This will help to 'Ground' you through your Meditation.
It is now Important that you try to open up your Chakras. This can be done by imagining and seeing each energy centre glowing and coming alive with energy. Work your way up through the Chakras - starting at the Red Base Chakra and finally reaching the Crown Chakra. Then imagine pure white, gold & silver Light pouring down from above and cleansing you. This cleansing light will fill you up with energy which overflows out of your body and over the top of your head. You will feel invigorated and alive with this new energy.
From this point your body should be relaxed and your mind open to your Spiritual Side. Enjoy this time and receive information from your loved ones and Spirit Guides with Love.
